Why a bench?
Do you ever sit on a park bench and feel a sense of comfort? Does your mind tend to want to explore different subjects? Have you ever had a conversation with someone on a bench? Sitting on a bench where the view is great might make you want to have a conversation with someone that just so happened to sit next to you. This is that experience. I welcome you to an environment of conversation and dialogue. Let’s sit and enjoy!
Learn about me
I am an environmentalist with education in environmental studies and sustainability. I practice a lifestyle of environmentally-friendly and sustainable daily practices. Not only is it a lifestyle, but being environmentally conscious is a joy and passion of mine. In everything I do and at every place I go, I strive to leave a trail of respect for the planet behind, in hopes of inspiring others to be more conscious of our Earth 🌍.
In addition to discussion, I offer a variety of services including photo editing, writing environmental outreach posts, creating infographics and charts to aid in your projects, and more. More information of these services are located here. A portfolio of my work can be found here.
I’m passionate!
Whenever I get an opportunity to volunteer at a nature preserve, animal sanctuary, or conservation project, I take it! Not only is it an excellent way to continue to gain knowledge in my field, but it also is a way for me to express gratitude and appreciation for where I live. 🌍
The more one takes time to learn about the greener lifestyle of living, the more minimalist and focused one can be. Mainly, you've developed a mindset of simplicity and reduced desire for materials through your true understanding of living a sustainable life. I don't mind getting muddy because when it's time to clean up, I do it well😏.
I’m colorful!
Vibrant colors have always been a mood lifter. Colors bring me to a place of mystical wonder. Even if I was at a place where the room was dim or if the sky was overcast, there is a way to place yourself in the brightness you would like to see. Take it from me at this apple orchard. What was once a fun apple pick, is now a treasured appled pick in a fantasy wonderland. That is why in my art and photography, I utilize vibrant colors. What was once bland with no natural light, can be reimagined with saturation enhancement and of course vast color options.
I’m active
On top of working on TerraOnTheBench, I take pleasure in roller and ice skating, kayaking, ninja courses 😆, hiking, and exploring new hobbies. There is never a dull moment when I can do these with my friend or with new folks.
What I write about
My passion lies in the interdisciplinary subject, that is, environmental studies and sustainability. However, there will be many more exciting and interesting topics to discuss. Topics relating to unpopular opinion, entertainment, education, and research. This space will be used for discussion ranging from educational to casual topics.
